Don’t Forget to Check
by George Paul Tire
To err is human and humans make ammunition. If it is assembled like this 9mm Federal round was, it isn’t going to go bang and that’s a bad thing if you need a bang. I picked this round up after helping a shooter get his pistol up and running again. It was from a box of factory ammo and he hadn’t examined it before loading a magazine. I’ve only encounter three or four bad factory loads in all the years I’ve been shooting, but they do happen and here is proof. It is wise to chamber check rounds as well as visually examine them just in case they are out of dimension. You can buy gauges to do this or if the barrel comes out of your weapon, use it instead.

A very short post with a very big tip. It’s always the little thing that will trip you up or even kill you. Already 4 people have died this year swimming nearby Galveston, TX from the tiniest bacteria entering a tiny nick on their feet/legs. If only they had examined that tiny little ‘imperfection’ they would be alive now.
Great tip. Food for thought
